Purpose: The Facilities Intern is responsible for assisting with basic maintenance tasks, learning about facility upkeep, and potentially assisting with minor repairs under the supervision of the Facilities Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
1. Assisting with tasks like cleaning, painting, changing light bulbs, power washing, and general upkeep of facilities.
2. Grounds maintenance includes grass mowing and trimming, fertilizing, weed control, and mulching. Helping with operation and maintenance of irrigation systems
3. Helping with monitoring and maintenance of emergency lighting and fire extinguishers.
4. Parking lot maintenance such as patching holes and cleaning debris from lots.
5. Maintain all bank owned equipment, such as lawn mowers. Helping with oil changes and tune-ups as needed
6. Routine maintenance including window washing both interior and exterior, waxing floors, mopping floors, vacuuming (in conjunction with cleaning contractor)
7. Help with taking out garbage/ recycling as needed.
8. Snow removal including shoveling and salting as needed at all locations
9. Maintain a clean and orderly workspace including storage shed and maintenance rooms.
10. Be a team player with the CSB employees and outside contractors
Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
Education: Junior or Senior in High School
Experience: no previous experience required
Skills: Must have basic knowledge of electric, plumbing, masonry, and carpentry. Small engine and equipment knowledge including ability to make repairs. Must be detail oriented, dependable, multi-task, and able to communicate well at all levels of the organization. Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
Human Relations: Requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with various levels of staff and outside contacts.
Responsibility and Decision-Making: Regular judgments are made with the guidance of general policies and procedures. Must be able to trouble shoot and determine the correct course of action.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to visit multiple offices. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
Work Environment: This position requires physical labor as well as working in varying weather conditions.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
