Traffic (18+)

Position Summary

Traffic security plays a critical role in maintaining a secure and enjoyable environment, ensuring the safety and satisfaction of everyone involved in the event. Traffic positions direct the flow of traffic and pedestrians.  No experience is necessary, however, previous experience would be helpful. Training is provided. May be required to attend additional training provided by MWF.  We would prefer if applicants are able to work all of Summerfest (June 19-21, June 26-28, July 3-5). However, we are hiring for the entire 2025 season which starts in May and goes through October.  For this reason, we would still hire applicants who can work many of the other events, especially in August-October.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

·Access Control:  Control and direct pedestrian flow, street access to grounds, and access to permanent street.
·Vehicle Control:  Control flow and direct vehicles, monitor vehicles.
·Tasks may vary depending on position and area of the grounds.
·Ability to work effectively with others.
·Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
·Communication:  Maintain clear and effective communication with other security personnel, event organizers, and local authorities as needed.
·Conflict Resolution:  Handle conflicts or disputes among attendees with a focus on de-escalation and maintaining a peaceful atmosphere.
·Assist with crowd control outside the venue. Monitor crowds and crowd behaviors at various locations outside the venue.
·Immediately respond when dispatched to security incidents or emergencies including medical emergencies, disturbances, or unauthorized entry.

Qualifications:

·High School diploma or general education degree.
·Previous experience in traffic a plus.
·Background or training in criminal justice is a bonus.
·Ability to work effectively with others.
